ATTENTION JETTE MEADOWS LANDOWNERS
The JMLA Board will be hosting a meeting on Friday, April 19th, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Four Square Church in Polson with guest speakers Carey Cooley and Owen Nichol.
Cary Cooley, Lake County Fire Mitigation Coordinator, will be presenting information regarding the process of applying for a cost sharing grant to assist our community in addressing the need to improve our forested areas. Carey will also be sharing information on homeowner fire safety education.
Owen Nichol is an ISA certified arborist, licensed pesticide applicator with the State of Montana, and Vice President for AMTOPP. Owen will be providing information on identifying diseased or dying trees, tree thinning and removal, and disease prevention. Both individuals will be sharing valuable information that we believe can help our community prepare our individual properties and shared common areas to lessen the opportunity and spread of wildfire. Over the past few years, we have seen wildland fires burn nearer to Jette Meadows. While we cannot prevent wildfires, there are many things we can do to help increase the safety of our properties and the firefighters called to protect them, but it will take all of us working together to be effective.
